Yee-haw

As an insight to how disorganized my life is, I have been back from Alaska for a solid three weeks and haven’t been able to finish writing about the five days I spent there before I’m turning around and heading out for another trip to Dallas. I’ll finish writing about Alaska. Eventually.

On the other hand, I have never been to Texas before and I’m excited to check it out. It’s going to be in the 90’s though, and I thought I was done with the hot weather for the year, so I’m not fully prepared for that.

The first four and a half days I’ll be there, it will be for work. This means I won’t really have an opportunity to travel or explore, as the typical work days for events like this run from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 or 10:00 p.m., which leaves me with just enough time to do nothing. However, my mom is flying in on Saturday and after we wrap up our event on Sunday afternoon, we’re going to check out downtown Dallas, then on Monday drive to Waco and Austin.

Goals are: Magnolia Market, the Waco Mammoth National Monument, at least three breweries, and all the tacos and BBQ I can force in my stomach. I told my mom I wanted to go on a sunrise hike. She never responded to that text.

I am having anxiety attacks about packing, especially since I have to leave for the airport at 5:30 tomorrow morning, but if I don’t die from exhaustion during the work week then I think I have a pretty stellar three days after that to kick back.

, I guess.
